A lioness steals camera from owner after she drops it. A lioness picked up an expensive camera after a wildlife photographer accidentally dropped it and carried it to her cubs to play with.

The event took place at Mashatu Game Reserve in Botswana, and you can see the cubs sniffing the camera wondering what the strange object is.

Barbara Jensen Vorster, was taking pictures of a pride of lions from a 4×4, when one of her cameras slipped from her lap and fell to the floor.
The lions heard the noise and approached the vehicle.

The lioness then grabbed the camera before taking it back to her cubs.
Ms Vorster said: ‘The camera slipped from my lap and fell on the ground.

‘Normally these lionesses are very relaxed but as there were small cubs they were extra protective.

As soon as the one lioness heard the thud, she looked up, growled and approached the vehicle. We had to reverse without attempting to retrieve it.’
A guide was eventually able to pick up the camera once the lioness and the cubs moved along. Barbara had the camera fixed after getting it back.
She added: ‘There are two huge teeth marks on the rubber focus rings of the lens and small teeth marks on the plastic lens hood, both of which I decided not to replace.
