Poacher Gets Trampled by Elephant Before Getting Arrested
On Saturday afternoon, I was scrolling through Facebook when I came across a post on Camps and Roads of Kruger, which stated that this lady saw someone on the S21 sand road, lying in the bushes “laughing”, she carried on driving and warned other cars about this man, the post ended with her stating that she forgot to mention this incident it to managers at the park, you can imagine the negative comments thrown her way for not reporting this suspicious man.
Other visitors did see the same man and stated that the man didn’t look like a poacher, as he was so well dressed, they didn’t approach him in case he was armed.
The man was later trampled by elephants while trying to get way, the SAPS (South African Police Service) found him injured and arrested him shortly after.
If you see anything suspicious, you MUST contact the number on your entry permit which is issued to you as you enter the park, or report the incident at your nearest camp.
